5 kW 1U programmable power supply series extended

TDK-Lambda announces the introduction of five new models to the 5 kW GENESYS+™ series of high power density programmable DC power supplies. This expansion now provides incremental and seamless choices in output voltage and current ranging from 0-10 V/500 A to 0-600 V/8.5 A. Initially launched in 2017, the GENESYS+™ provides higher efficiency, improved performance and is functionally compatible with existing TDK-Lambda Genesys™ and Z+ programmable power supplies. The series is suitable for use in a large number of applications, including component, automotive and aerospace testing, semiconductor fabrication, solar array and battery simulation, plating and water treatment.

All GENESYS+™ 5 kW products share a common 1U high 19” (483mm) rack-mountable chassis and weigh just 7kg, the lightest in the industry. The five new models are rated at 0-40 V/125 A, 0-60 V/85 A, 0-80 V/65 A, 0-100 V/50 A and 0-150V/34A with operation in constant voltage, constant current and constant power modes. The units can be configured with three-phase 170- 265 Vac, 342 to 460 Vac or 342 to 528 Vac inputs. Up to four power supplies can be connected in parallel with an advanced master/slave system that provides dynamic load response and ripple and noise characteristics comparable with that of a single power supply.

Programming is possible using the front panel controls, remotely via LAN (LXI 1.5), USB 2.0 and RS232/485 communications, or by using the isolated analogue control and monitoring (0-5 V, 0-10 V) which are provided as standard.  Optional interfaces include a choice of GPIB (IEEE488.2) and the Anybus CompactCom interface platform for DeviceNet™, EtherCat, Modbus, PROFIBUS and other interface options as they are released. Software drivers, a waveform creator and a virtual front panel GUI are provided in the software package. Safety features are standard in all GENESYS+™ power supplies, providing Safe/Auto Re-Start, Last Setting Memory and built-in protection functions.

The five-year warranty series is safety certified to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1, is CE marked to the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directive and is compliant to the industrial IEC/EN 61326-1 standard for conducted EMI, radiated EMI and EMC immunity.
