RFOptic, a leading provider of RF over Fibre (RFoF) and Optical Delay Line (ODL) solutions, announced today that it has launched its latest generation of 40GHz ultra-wideband solutions.
RFOptic has launched its next generation of 40 GHz RF over Fibre compact modules with superior features for telecommunications and defense applications, satellite, point-to-point remote antennas and broadcast. To download the brochure, click here.
This latest generation of 40 GHz Optical Delay Line (ODL) modules is based provide a high-performance solution for testing and calibrating radar systems or RF communication equipment. The ODL converts analogue RF signals to optical signals and introduces an optional constant gain with true-time delay ranging from nanoseconds to hundreds of microseconds. At the output, the signals are converted back into the RF domain. The 40 GHz Optical Delay Line is a compact solution, which provides superb performance and includes accurate time delay and ultra-silent operation. It can be ordered with an integral switch unit supporting up to 8 predefined additive time delay sections in a single ODL unit as well as more delay states when using a Progressive ODL architecture. 40GHz RFoF Main Benefits:
- Excellent flatness across the whole bandwidth
- Gain of -30 dB
- NF of 35 dB
- SFDR of 110 dB/Hz2/3
- Better NF and Gain with preamplifier/post amplifiers combination
- Remote control interface
- Standard 19” rack-mountable (for ODL)
“The 40 GHz RFoF link allows operations over distances of up to tens of kilometers,” explained Oz Abramson, VP at RFOptic. “Furthermore, we can tailor a customized solution based on our vast experience with RFoF technology according to the very specific requirements of a customer. Due to our expertise and skill, the turnaround time is short.”
“We have tailored our latest generation of 40GHz ODL systems to improve performances and link distance to meet very specific requirements of each customer,” added Dr Avner Sharon, CEO&CTO at RFOptic. “To resolve additional system loss over long distances, Optical Amplifier (EDFA) can be used. This approach will maintain the Noise Figure performance similar to that of low optical losses and short distances.”
